Who on the universal deluge bore
The ark, wisdom of Vedas to restore;
Keshava in the strange Fish form adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 1

The mountain held upon thy back divine,
By whirling friction left a chafing sign;
Keshava in the Turtle form adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 2

When Earth on thy curving tusk did sustain,
It seemed as on the crescent moon a stain;
Keshava in the wild Boar form adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 3

Thy lotus-hands were claws wondrous to see,
Tearing the Hiranyakashipu-bee;
Keshava as the Lion-man adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 4

O Primal Dwarf, thou didst cheat proud Bali,
Thy foot-wash confers on all sanctity;
Keshava as Vamana the adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 5

Thou bathest in warrior blood enraged,
And torments of existence were assuaged;
Keshava as Axeman Rama adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 6

To the ten points the ten crowns thou didst fling,
Of the ten-headed to make offering;
Keshava in form of Rama adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 7

Dark cloth upon thy fair limbs thou dost wear,
Like Yamuna in fear of thy ploughshare;
Keshava as Haladhara adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 8

Old sacrificial rites thou didst deplore,
At sight of slaughtered beasts pitying sore;
Keshava as Buddha the one adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord. 9

The barbarous host with thy falchion didst smite,
Which shineth like comet in thy hand bright;
Keshava in form of Kalki adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 10

Hearken to Jayadeva's noble song,
Which fortune and pure happiness prolong;
Keshava, assuming ten forms adored,
Hail to Hari, the universal Lord! 11
