Who is Lakshmi? Why is she called Narayani?

Lakshmi is the supreme personality of godhead. There is nothing within existence that is not owned and controlled by her. She is immeasurable. She is beyond the perception of the Vedas. She cannot be perceived by those who rely upon their limited material senses. She is the beginning, middle and end of everything.

She is called Narayani because she is beloved wife of Narayana. Narayani is is His supreme I-hood. Narayani means dear and one who belongs to Narayana. She is Narayani because she is identical with Narayana nature, the shakti and feminine form of Narayana. She is Lakshmi Narayani.

43-45. She is the ever-sought goal of the entire Pancaratra system.
This is the goddess Narayani, the abiding quintessence of Narayana

Chapter 1
1. Sri said:—I am Narayani, possessed of eternal, flawless, infinite and beneficial attributes, verily Visnu’s supreme being.

Chapter 3
Sri-—In essence I consist of consciousness and matchless bliss like pure space. I am Narayani, Hari’s state of existence andmy nature resembles His.

Chapter 4
I am Goddess Narayani, ever co-operating in performing the functions of Narayana, who consists of jnana (knowledge), ananda (bliss) and kriya (activity) ; and I too consist of knowledge, bliss and activity.

Chapter 9
4. Sri. - I am Goddess Narayani consisting of pure and infinite
consciousness, I am Visnus independent and absolute Sri.

Chapter 12
Sri — I am called NarayanI, the Sakti inherent in Narayana.
Tarika, mistress of the universe, is the supreme form (manifestation)of that self of mine.
